Southwest
Lakes
Regional lakes and ponds are a great alternative to river muddied by
spring run-off.
Lakes
are great for kids and families looking for
a mellow and relaxed day on the water.
Our
permits for these fisheries are either DOW
or National Forest Service. Root Pond is
a private lake.
Animas Valley
Anglers offers today's fly angler some of
the best still water fly fishing in the Southwest.
AvA guides large reservoirs, small alpine
lakes and private ponds.
Drop us a line
for more info on still-water challenges for
trout, small mouth bass, large mouth bass,
pike, salmon, pan fish, carp and more.

Flows
and Guide Report
All
lakes and ponds are fishing
pretty well. The high elevation
lakes will be good for the
next three weeks or so.
The low elevation
lakes will
start to cool in the
next couple weeks and the
fishing will just get better
and better.
Root
Pond, our private waters
micro lake is fishing
well, but water temps
are still too warm with
the hot weather.

Hatcher
Lake, semi private lake
in Pagosa Springs, is fishing
OK with midges, hoppers,
leeches and buggers. This
is a new AVA offering.
We have limited access,
but can arrange guided
fly fishing for these very
strong and often big trout.
We fish the same way we
fish Root Pond, from the
comfort of our drift boats
or decked out rafts. Drop
us a line for more info.
