Mountain
stream and creek reports, predictions
and fly patterns
Most mountain creeks are low and snowed over. We'll be
on them in late spring.

Effective
dries and
nymphs for creek trout:
Most
mountain
creek trout
are not very
technical,
their feeding
habits tend
to be more
opportunistic than
other trout
in the larger
streams and
rivers. Below
is a sample
of the flies
we cast to
mountain
creek trout.
Dries:
Yellow, orange and black stimi, Adams,
para-caddis, elk hair caddis, yellow
and orange humpy, black fly, Hendrickson.
Basically anything that floats and
looks buggy will catch fish, hell
even lint will work.
Nymphs:
Bead head (BH) zug bug, BH Hare's
ear, BH pheasant tail, rubber leg
stones, small buggers, prince nymph,
BH caddis pupa, BH AP black, brassie.
